A Writer’s Christmas List

Home / Blog / A Writer’s Christmas List

I’ve been good this year, so I know I’m not on your “naughty” list. We don’t have a chimney, but you can do as our UPS driver does and leave my presents at the front door, then knock loudly so I know to check and see what’s waiting for me.

Actually, most of what’s on my list isn’t the kind of request you can carry in your bag, anyhow. You’ll have to find another way to deliver these things.

My biggest wish is for world peace, but gee, Santa, even God hasn’t been able to help with that one, so I suspect it’s beyond your capabilities.

More specific to me personally, here are some things I would like. The method of delivery is up to you:

~ More good ideas for good books

~ More readers to read my books

~ More readers to spread the word by posting reviews of my books on Amazon.com

~ More readers to spread the word by telling other people to buy my books

~ More of a publicity push for my books from each of my publishers

~ The same again for all my friends who are writers

Santa, you must get tired of all those cookies and all that milk. If you’ll knock on my door when you get to my house, maybe it’ll be time for your dinner break. Would you prefer curried chicken or Twilight Pork? I’ll have whichever you prefer ready for you if you’ll let me know your ETA. And with your dinner, I can offer you a shot of scotch to keep you warm as you fly through the northern latitudes. It’s warm enough here in South Florida, but I know your annual trip takes you to some pretty chilly spots as well.

Well, Santa, I won’t hold you up, reading this, any longer. I know you have lots to do to get ready for the Big Night. Hope to see on on Christmas Eve, even if nothing on my wish list is anything you can carry in your sack. Let me know if you want the chicken or the pork. I’m a good cook. (Have you read any of my cookbooks? I have written quite a few. My fave of all of them is STEALTH LEFTOVERS. Do you and Mrs. Claus have any of my cookbooks? Which of you two does the cooking in your house?)

Love you, Santa. Merry Christmas –

Cynthia
